The Scryn MCP connector lets you use Scryn directly from an AI assistant such as Claude. Once connected, the assistant can search 30M+ private companies, pull enriched profiles and contacts, and build lists — all from your conversation, on your behalf.

1. Overview

Scryn is an AI-powered company-intelligence platform for deal sourcing. The MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector exposes Scryn’s search, enrichment, and list tools to any MCP-compatible AI assistant, so you can run Scryn from where you already work — your chat — instead of switching to the web app.

2. Requirements

  • A Scryn account with an active subscription or trial. Sign up or sign in at app.scryn.co. Tool availability follows your plan tier.
  • An AI assistant that supports MCP connectors (for example, Claude).

3. Connecting the connector

The Scryn connector server URL is https://app.scryn.co/mcp. Use it exactly as shown, with no trailing slash. Choose whichever path matches your client:

Option A — Claude connector directory

Once Scryn is listed in Claude’s directory: in claude.ai, go to Settings → Connectors, find Scryn, click Connect, and approve the Scryn consent screen.

Option B — Add as a custom connector (available today)

On paid Claude plans (Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise): go to Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, paste https://app.scryn.co/mcp, click Connect, and approve the OAuth consent screen.

Option C — Claude Desktop (one-click extension)

Download the Scryn desktop extension at app.scryn.co/scryn.mcpb and double-click to install — it handles the OAuth sign-in for you.

Other MCP-compatible clients (such as Cursor or VS Code) connect to the same URL via OAuth discovery, or via npx [email protected] https://app.scryn.co/mcp. After connecting, ask the assistant to search for companies — it will call Scryn on your behalf. You can revoke access anytime from Settings → Integrationsin Scryn, or from your assistant’s connector settings.

4. What you can do

Once connected, the assistant can use the following Scryn tools on your behalf:

Search & discovery

  • searchFind companies from a natural-language description of what you’re looking for.
  • find_similar_to_companiesSurface companies similar to a set of reference companies.
  • start_competitor_search / get_competitor_searchDiscover and retrieve competitors for a company.
  • list_related_organizationsExplore organizations related to a given company.
  • get_referencesReference data used to build searches (for example country and region identifiers).

Company profiles & enrichment

Enrichment actions may require a higher plan tier.

  • get_organizationRetrieve a single company’s full enriched profile.
  • get_company_leadershipGet the leadership and key people at a company.
  • get_company_newsFetch recent news about a company.
  • get_parent_classificationUnderstand a company’s corporate structure and classification.
  • unlock_enrichmentUnlock parent-company enrichment (talent movement, brand signals, ownership lens) for a company.

Contacts

May require a higher plan tier; contact reveals consume enrichment credits.

  • get_contactsRetrieve business contacts associated with a company.
  • start_exec_contact / get_exec_contactRequest and retrieve executive contact details.

Lists & exports

Exports consume export credits and may require a higher plan tier.

  • create_saved_list / list_saved_listsCreate and browse saved company lists.
  • add_orgs_to_list / add_orgs_to_list_by_criteriaAdd companies to a list directly or by criteria.
  • search_in_listSearch within a saved list.
  • export_by_criteria / get_export_status / list_exportsExport results and track export jobs.

Sessions & account

  • list_chat_sessions / get_chat_sessionResume prior Scryn search sessions.
  • get_usageCheck your current usage.
  • whoami / pingVerify the connection and the authenticated account.

5. Authentication & scopes

The connector authenticates through a standard OAuth authorization flow. At the consent screen you approve exactly which permissions the assistant may use; it can act only within the scopes you grant. Tokens are stored securely and remain valid until you revoke access — anytime from Settings → Integrations — or close your account.

Scryn requests the following permissions:

Search the company database
Run natural-language and structured filter searches across the Scryn company database. Running a search is free — the companies it shows are downloaded to the assistant using your export allowance (charged once per company, then free forever, and shared with your web CSV exports).
Read your saved lists and exports
Enumerate your saved lists and exports. Browse list metadata and export job status.
Read your conversation history
Read past chat sessions including any companies surfaced or find-similar results captured along the way. Private user data — only granted when you've explicitly accepted this scope.
Read company profiles
Read full company profiles, hierarchies, and enrichment from your Scryn database. Each company the assistant opens is downloaded using your export allowance — charged once per company, then free forever (and free if you already exported it on the web).
Create and modify your saved lists
Create new saved lists and add companies to them (by explicit id or by search criteria). Cannot delete lists or remove companies — restricted to additive operations.
Run CSV exports against your subscription quota
Start asynchronous CSV exports of companies matching a search criteria. Each exported company consumes one export credit from your subscription. Exports run in the background and can be downloaded from the web app once complete.
Unlock enrichment, competitors, leadership & contacts
Unlock parent-company enrichment (talent movement, brand signals, ownership lens), find competitors, pull leadership and recent news, and reveal individual contacts (email, phone, LinkedIn). Contact reveals are pre-charged to your enrichment-credit quota — not refunded if a company has no indexed contacts. Companies returned by a competitor search use your export allowance, like search.

6. Usage & limits

Requests made through the connector count toward your Scryn plan’s usage, the same as searches run in the web app. Use get_usage at any time to check your current usage. Some actions — such as unlocking enrichment or exporting — may consume plan credits.

7. Data & privacy

When you use the connector, the company records and results you retrieve flow into your AI assistant’s conversation and are processed on that provider’s infrastructure under their policies. For full detail on what Scryn collects, how we use and store it, third-party sharing, and retention, see our Privacy Policy.
